20th Century Boys
Kenji Endo’s rock-and-roll dreams have long since faded into the mundane routine of managing a convenience store and raising his infant niece, Kanna. This fragile peace shatters when a childhood friend’s mysterious suicide draws Kenji into a world of shadows, where a charismatic cult leader known only as "Friend" has hijacked a secret symbol created by Kenji’s gang in the summer of 1969. As biological attacks and unexplained disappearances begin to mirror the exact apocalyptic scenarios the boys once wrote in their "Book of Prophecy," Kenji realizes that their childhood games have been twisted into a lethal reality. He must now reconcile his role as a failed adult with the heroic destiny he once imagined, standing at the center of a conspiracy that threatens to erase humanity’s future.
Bound by the nostalgia of their shared past, Kenji and his childhood friends must reunite to dismantle a nightmare of their own making, facing an enemy who uses their own memories as weapons. The conflict intensifies as Kenji is forced to navigate a web of betrayal and shifting identities, grappling with the internal weight of his childhood mistakes while being hunted by a society that views him as a villain. The story reaches a fateful turning point where the stakes move from the streets of Tokyo to a global stage, testing the limits of Kenji’s resolve as he fights to unmask the man behind the symbol. Despite the overwhelming odds and the weight of a dying century, Kenji’s ultimate goal remains unshakable: he will reclaim the world and the future they once dreamed of proving that even an ordinary man can become the legend the world desperately needs.
